Success Begins with Design & Engineering
With the right tools in the right hands, there is very little that cannot be created through CNC machining. The real objective in industrial manufacturing is to deliver the best possible solution in the most efficient and economical way possible. To have any hope of accomplishing that, you must thoroughly design and engineer your product before you begin to build it.
Once we have a clear understanding of the objectives, context and budget for a job, Triple J engineers begin developing a virtual solution. Using powerful 2D drafting software, component design and production methods are laid out in a series of drawings and documents that dictate the production process down to the last detail.
Next comes an elaborate 3D-model of your product. This process helps visualize the product and how it will work in context.
Design Tools
- 2D-Drafting
- Detailed Machine Drawings
- BOM’s (Bill of Materials)
- Weldment/ Fabrication Drawings
- Technical Layouts
- GD&T ASME Y14.5 Drawings
- 3D-Modeling
- Single Component
- Assemblies
- Design Calculations
- Internal Yield Pressure / Burst
- Collapse
- Tensile
- Buckling
- Shear
- Bending
- Tolerance Analysis
Stress Tests
The third and final phase of Design & Engineering takes that 3D model and puts it through a series of stress tests in a process called Finite Element Analysis (FEA). FEA is an industry-standard quality-control process where complex mathematical algorithms are applied to digital prototypes to simulate real-world conditions.
Though intensive and demanding, FEA delivers a comprehensive, highly precise assessment of the design, allowing for changes to be made before production begins. By the time the first part rolls off the line, its success is virtually guaranteed.
FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
- Static
- Linear Dynamic
- Non-Linear
- Thermal
- Buckling
- Fatigue
The Value of Specialty Design
Some firms avoid seeking custom solutions to unique production challenges. They incorrectly assume they will save money by using only pre-made or off-the-shelf components, even though a customized solution may be easily obtained.
Predictably, that decision costs them far more in the end than they would have spent to get it right the first time. The only way to ensure you end up with the best possible manufactured solution to your objective is to bring it to Triple J.
Context-specific, custom-engineered solutions can be game-changing in the field, improving performance and increasing profitability.
- Optimized operation
- Minimized downtime
- Optimal performance
- Simplified handling
- Improved accuracy
- Increased efficiency
